The FOS is no longer responsible for monitoring the Code of Practice. Rather, the FOS now focuses solely on providing external dispute resolution for insurers when the resolution of a complaint cannot be reached internally between the insurer and the customer.
A new independent board known as the Code Governance Committee (CGC) has taken over the monitoring and enforcing of code compliance.
